In 2023 the Society's Civic Environment Committee undertook a study of weathervanes in Norwich. Although weathervanes are designed to be visible in that they are place on the summit of a building and serve as both a decorative and functional purpose, they are rarely mentioned in the history of the buildings they adorn. This report looks at weathervanes in Norwich past and present, and includes a directory of existing known weathervanes that can be seen from public places.
